Funeral services for Warren D. Purser, 68, who passed away Sunday, May 30th, 1948 after several months of ill health were held in the Bethel Baptist Church in Spur, on Monday, May 31st, 1948, with Rev. Dock Love officiating.

Mr. Purser came to Dickens County to make his home in 1936, and has lived in the Dry Lake community since that time, where he has many friends to mourn his passing.

Survivors include five sons, L.C. of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Fred C. of the U.S. Navy; Jack U.S. Army, James of Dallas, Charles, Lake Dallas; (Note: didn't say daughter on Mrs. Beasley) Mrs. Odell Beasley of Lubbock; one sister, Mrs. Anna Laura Spillner, Perryton; two brothers (Note: obit says two brothers, then lists three names), Thomas L. and E.C. Purser of Spur; Will Purser of Grapevine; and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Estel Hairgrove, Dee Hairgrove, Seamon Reynolds, D.B. Ince, Jack Patton and Jeff Smith.

Interment was in the Dickens Cemetery at Dickens, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.
