Services for H. D. Payne, 58, of 3107 30th St. will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Memorial Baptist Church.The Rev. Gene Anglin, pastor will officiate.
Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Dickens Cemetery at Dickens. Arrangements are being handled by Rix Fineral Directors.
Payne died at 6:45 p.m. Sunday in Highland Hospital after a brief illness.
A Lubbock resident since 1953, Payne moved here from Floydada. A security guard employed by Pinkerton's Inc., he was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Annie; a son, Don of Floydada; a stepson, Wayne Bishop of Spur; a brother, Wade of Alexandria, La; a sister, Mrs. Frances Dailey of Sherman; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Annie Mae Payne, 92, of Lubbock will be 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, in Englunds Chapel, with Brother Bob Fagin officiating. Interment will be in the Dickens Cemetery at 4 p.m. Services are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.Annie died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007. She was born May 12, 1915, in Stevens County. Annie graduated from Croton High School. During World War II, she worked for Pantex. After the war, she worked for Southwestern Bell as an operator and later as a bookkeeper, retiring in 1977.
She married H.D. Payne in 1971 and he preceded her in death in 1979.
Her survivors include her son, Wayne Bishop of Lubbock; two granddaughters, D. D. Saunders of Murphy and Elizabeth Ann Gilbert of Paducah; and three great-grandchildren, Colby and Darron Gilbert, and Kendra Saunders.
