W. R. Murphy formerly of Roaring Springs and brother of Garland Murphy, former Roaring Springs grocery merchant, was buried at Dickens last week, the victim of a REA electric line tragedy near Clarendon, May 3.
Murphy was electrocuted when he came in contact with live wires. His body hung on the poles some time, spectators being unable to remove it due to current passing thru his body. He was employed by a Fort Worth concern.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Clara Murphy; a daughter, Vondell; two sisters, Mrs. Arlene Hotcho and Mrs. Dora Cornett, both of Spur; and seven brothers, Garland of Seminole, Marvin of Paducah, Tommy of Amarillo. Lee and Theo of San Diego, Frank of Spur and Claud of Hermosa Beach, California.
