Funeral services were held January 21 at 1 p.m. in the First Methodist Church, for Leo (Pat) Clarence Murphy, 77. Rev. Clarence Stephens officiated.Mr. Murphy died Jan. 17 in Denver, Colorado. He served as local agent for Fort Worth and Denver Railroad from 1941 until his retirement. He was a member of the Elks Lodge. He had been a resident of Dickens County since 1921.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. L.C. Murphy, Spur; one daughter, Mrs. Jane Schlueter, Denver, Colorado; three sisters, Mrs. May Caves, Fresno, CA; Mrs. Agnes Carter, Friendship, Wis.; and Mrs. Annie Hamilton, Madison, Wis.; two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Walda Stephens, Fletcher Rich, Fred Arrington, Ebbie Lane, Earl Files, Dwain Lusk and D.C. Newsom, Jr.
Interment was in Spur Cemetery. [was buried in Dickens Cemetery North Row 20, Grave 19]
