John Murphy

Funeral services for John Thomas Murphy, 75, were held Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Dickens, Rev. Victor Crabtree officiated.

Mr. Murphy had resided in Dickens County from 1898 to 1967 when he moved to Levelland. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Paul Hotchco, Spur, Mrs. Dora Cornett, Herington, Kansas; four brothers, Marvin Murphy, Tucumcari, N.M., Frank Murphy, Dickens, Garlin Murphy, Lubbock, Claude Murphy, Downey, Calif.

Pallbearers included Luther Jones, Victor Arrington, George Hotchco, Johnny Koonsman, Charlie Arrington, and Jack Bearden.
