U.S.Flag   Graveside Services for J. D. McCormick, 63, of Dickens, will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 12, 2006 at the Dickens Cemetery with Tommy Hemphill and Rev. Robby Harris officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

J. D. passed away Thursday, March 9, 2006 at Crosbyton Hospital.

He was born June 4, 1942 in Croton to the late Walter Hicks and Velma Dean (Hawley) McCormick. On August 3, 1962 he married Tommie Harris in McAdoo.

He was a member of the Church of Christ and former member of the Lions Club. He was a carpenter and served as Dickens County commissioner for 12 years. J. D. moved back to Dickens two weeks ago from Hart where he had lived for the past eight years. Prior to living in Hart he had lived in Dickens for 35 years. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Air Force.

Survivors include; his wife Tommie of Dickens, two sons and their wives; Philip and Melanie McCormick of Spur, Justin and Annette McCormick of White River Lake, two brothers; Norman Hicks McCormick of Dickens, Johnny McCormick of Decatur, two sisters; Joan Dickinson of Decatur, Arkansas, Ellen Hrabal of Amarillo and five grandchildren; Bailey, Kylie, Garrett, Wyatt and Wylie.
