Graveside services for Richard Kautz, Sr., 66, of Dickens were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2001 at the Dickens Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Henderson and Ben Kautz officiating. Services were under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.
He died Wednesday, December 26, 2001 at his residence in Dickens.
Mr. Kautz was born October 3, 1935 in La Paloma, Texas to William and Olivia Leal Kautz. He had lived in the Dickens County area since 1962. He attended school at Robstown, Texas. He married Valentine Ramirez October 6, 1953 in Waxahachie, Texas. He was a farmer and a Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Dahlia Kautz in 1956 and one brother, William Kautz, Jr.
He is survived by his wife Valentine, five sons, Richard Katz, Jr., Bobby Kautz, Ben Kautz and Danny Kautz all of Dickens, and Sammy Kautz of Spur; two daughters, Maria Kautz of Dickens and Sylvia Schmalzried of Plainview; one sister, Amelia Calvillo of Idalou; 16 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
