Mrs. Joe Jeffries died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R.L. Worswick, north of Dickens Sunday night. Mrs. Jeffries had been ill for sometime.Funeral services were conducted at the Dickens Cemetery Monday. Rev. B.B. Huckabay, pastor of the Baptist Church at Dickens, conducted the funeral rites. Interment followed in Dickens Cemetery with Campbell's Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Jeffries maiden name was Miss Catherine Koger. She was born in Tennessee June 7, 1868 and would have been 70 years of age in June had she lived until her next birthday. She came with her parents to Texas when she was seven years of age, and ten years later the family moved to Floyd County.
She married Wm. M. Runnels in 1892. Two children came into the home, but one passed away some years ago. The other, Mrs. Worswick, still survives. Mr. Runnels died in 1904 and she married Mr. Jeffries in 1905. No children by her second marriage.
She is survived by her husband and daughter, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
