Funeral services for Gilbert Eugene Hudson, 50, were held December 29 in the First Baptist Church, Spur. Rev. Tommie Ewing, Shallowater, officiated, assisted by Rev. Norris Taylor.

Mr. Hudson died December 29 in a Big Spring Hospital. He was a retired farmer and rancher. He moved to Dickens County in 1970 from Kent County. He had resided near Afton since 1970. He was a member of the Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bonnie Hudson, Dickens; three sons, Bobby Hudson, Amarillo, Gaylon Hudson, Snyder and Jimmy Hudson of the home; one step-son, Jerry Don Griffin, Tahoka; a daughter, Mrs. Shawnee Clay, Lubbock; a step-daughter, Cheryl Ann Adams, Snyder; his mother, Mrs. Ruth Hudson, Abilene; two brothers, Dwain Hudson, Spur and Steve Hudson, Jr., Lone Star; two sisters, Mrs. Polly Ohmstead, Abilene and Mrs. Mary Evelyn Brown, Azle.

Active pallbearers included Gerald Watts, Verlon Bigham, Luther Jones, Jim Cummins, Cleo Murray, Eddie Dean Reagan, Honorary pallbearers were Byron Brown, John Turner and Vaughn Hammonds.

Burial was in Dickens Cemetery.
