Services for Odis Ben Holly, 79, of Dickens, were at 11 a.m. September 12, 1989 in the First Baptist Church, Dickens. Rev. C. L. Atkinson, pastor of the Afton Baptist Church, officiated.

Burial was in Dickens Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Holly died at 5:35 a.m. September 10, 1989 in Methodist Hosital, Lubbock following a lengthy illness. He was born July 4, 1910 in Dickens County and resided here most of his life. He was a Vocaitonal Agriculture teacher and farmer. He received his master´s degree from Texas Tech and taught at Patton Springs High School. He was a member of the Dickens County 4-H chapter and FFA chapter.

He married the former Edith Biddy in April of 1955 in Paducah. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Edith Holly, Dickens; one sister, Velma Claar, Spur.

Pallbearers included R. J. Bell, Wayne Bishop, Odell Holly, J. D. McCormick, Keith Hull and Ernest Ramirez.
