Funeral services for Ben Duncan Holly, 64, resident Dickens County since 1899, were conducted at 11 a.m. in the Dickens Church of Christ. Bro. John Faubus officiated.Holly died suddenly Friday evening in a local hospital where he was brought after suffering a heart attack. He was born June 1, 1886 in Eastland County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Holly.
He was married to Lula Randall on December 11, 1907 in Dickens. The family had resided in Dickens County ever since.
Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Lula Holly, a daughter, Mrs. Velma Raillo (Could be Baillo-microfilm not clear), both of Spur, and a son, Odis Holly, of Lubbock.
Also surviving are three brothers, Watt and Hallet Holly, Dickens; Tony Holly of California; three sisters, Mrs. Lena Marshall and Mrs. G.C. Overstreet, Dickens and Mrs. Gertrude Kratchmar of Califormia. Four grandchildren also survive.
Pallbearers were Lee Marshall, Stiles Hurst, John Blakely, Preston Booth, Bud Scott and Joe Long.
Interment was in Dickens Cemetery, with Chandler Funeral Home directing arrangements.

Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Steel Hill Church of Christ, for Mrs. Lula Randall Holly, 80. Dell Young officiated.Mrs. Holly died in Spur Memorial Hospital on August 24. She had been a resident of Spur for the past 15 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by one son, Odis Holly, Dickens; one daughter, Velma Dye, Odessa; one brother, Morgan Randall, Spur and one sister, Mrs. Jessie Erath, Spur; three grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers included George Erath, Jay Austin, Floyd Faubus, W.M. Erath, Elmer Cross and Clomer Randall.
Interment was in Dickens Cemetery.
