Jewell Holder

Jewell Holder Mrs. Jewell Norene Holder passed on to our Father the Lord on August 26th, 2012, while in Hospice in Lubbock. Jewell was born on December 14th, 1930 north of Dickens in the Midway community and attended school in the city of Dickens. She has been a long time resident of Spur.

Jewell was preceded in death by her Parents John Earnest Noland and Eunice May Noland originally of Dickens as well as her brothers and sister; C.D. (Jiggs) Noland, Clayton Noland, John Early Noland and Geraldine Putman.

Jewell is survived by her loving husband Jim Holder of Spur, her oldest son Jeff and his wife Susan Harkey of Burkburnett, youngest son Deon and his wife Marilyn Harkey of McKinney, and her stepson Robert Holder of Matador. Jewell was blessed with five grandchildren; Pvt. Cliff Harkey, USA, 1st Mountain Division, Ft. Drum, New York, Staff Sergeant Jay Harkey, USAF, Peterson AFB, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Traci Blaze of Tampa, Florida, Caitlin Harkey of Melbourne, Florida and Jana Harkey of Amarillo, Texas. Jewell was always excited to spend time with her two Great-Grandchildren, Ethan Harkey of Colorado Springs and Elle Blaze of Tampa, Florida.

Jewell loved living in Spur where her Dickens County roots, friends, loved ones and memories ran deep. She enjoyed spending her final years in this great community.

Services honoring her life will be held at 10:00am in the First Baptist Church of Dickens on Thursday August 30th, 2012 with Bro Rudy Hernandez officiating under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home in Spur, Texas, with burial in the Dickens Cemetery to follow.

Pallbearers are Jewell�s nephews and honored friends including Jimmy Noland, CC Noland, Johnny Noland, Kirk Bryant, Steven Adams, and Glen Morgan. Honorary pallbearers are RC Littlefield, Carlton Dodson, and James Etheridge. The family has requested donations be made to the South Dickens County Senior Citizens Center, 210 Burlington, Spur, TX 79370, in lieu of Flowers.
