Obituary

Masonic graveside services for Wade William Hash, 96, of Odessa were at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 29, 2001 with Bro. Thurmond Cowan officiating and Masonic Lodge #1279. Burial was at the Dickens Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.

Hash died Monday, April 16, 2001 in Odessa. He was born September 26, 1904 in Park Springs, Texas. He married Frances Ann Cowan December 31, 1934 in Dickens. He was a Methodist and a Mason, and had received his 50 year pin with the Masonic Lodge. He was a cotton farmer, and had lived in Odessa since 1993.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bert and Lee Hash, and one grandson, Christopher Wade Hash.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Hash of Odessa; one son, Burl Wade Hash of Framigham, Massachusetts; three daughters, Barbara Thompson of Lake Como, FL., Margaret Green of Odessa, and Kathryn Boone of Odessa; one sister, Gladys Dillard of Decatur; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Frances Ann Hash Photo

Frances Ann Hash, 92, of Odessa, passed away June 20, 2009 at her daughter's home in Odessa.

She was born in Arnett, Coryell County, Texas on the Voss Ranch to Ernest E. and Repsy Moore Cowan on October 20, 1916.

She married William Wade Hash on December 31, 1934 in Dickens County. They were cotton farmers at Route 5, Lubbock, Texas from 1940 to 1963 when they retired and moved to Mission. They lived in Mission until 1993 when they moved to Odessa to be near their daughters Margaret and Kathryn.

Frances was a gardener and a Life-time Nationally Accredited Flower Show Judge and winner of many awards in flower arranging. She also taught design and flower arranging.

She was a life time member of the Church of Christ. In her younger years, she was active in the Home Demonstration Club and the 4-H Club in Lubbock County.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William Wade Hash; her parents, Ernest and Repsy Cowan; brother, William Cowan; sisters, Rosella Cowan and Stella Mae Martin; and grandson, Christopher Wade Hash. She is survived by one son, Burl Wade Hash of Framingham, Mass.; three daughters, Barbara Thompson of Lake Como, Fla., Margaret Green of Odessa, and Kathryn Boone of Odessa; eight grandchildren, Shane Connor, Sabrina Collum, Amy Breithaupt, Wade Green, Cheryl Wright, David Boone, Elizabeth Boone, and Carrie Hash; 13 great-grand children, Erin and Sarah Jackson, Ian Foster; Bryan, Cade and Repsy Collum, Benjamin, Stuart, Jacob Breithaupt, Georgia, Holden, and Avery Boone, and Christopher Wade Hash II.

Graveside services will be held at Dickens Cemetery in Dickens at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 with Jesse Ortiz officiating.

Visitation of friends and family will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home, 602 North Burlington, Spur, TX.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scholarship Fund at Odessa College 201 West University Blvd., Odessa, TX 79764 or to The Friends of Ector County Library, 321 West 5th Street, Odessa, TX 79761.
