Mrs. H. T. Harris, 59, Buried At Dickens

Mrs. H. T. Harris, 59, died suddenly at her home in Whiteflat about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, shortly after being brought home from the hospital at Spur, where she had been a patient for several days. She had been in ill health for a number of years. Her husband, pastor of Whiteflat Baptist Church and also the Dougherty Baptist Church, was at her bedside.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church, Matador. Rev. C.W. Withrow of Quitaque conducted the services, assisted by Rev. Earl Allen of Fort Worth, and Rev. Ray Manning of Matador. Burial was in Dickens Cemetery.

Born Minnie Reynolds, November 18, 1896, in Stowah, Tenn., she was married there to H. T.Harris, March 16, 1919. They came to this area in 1929, and Rev. Harris has served several Baptist pastorates in this area.

Their son, Rev. Clifford Harris is pastor of the First Baptist Church in Tahoka, and his Choir Director, Bob Lewis, offered a solo and conducted the music for the funeral services.

Mrs. Harris had been a member of the Baptist Church since early girlhood. She died Nov. 3, 1956, at the age of 59 years, 11 months and 15 days.

Besides her husband and son, she is survived by one brother, Robert Reynolds, and a sister, Mrs. D. H. Dunn, both of Dickens, and two grandchildren.

Other relatives present for the funeral were two nieces, a nephew, Mrs. Bill Perrin of Los Cruces and Mr. and Mrs. David Reams of Silver City, N. Mexico.
