Obituary

Funeral services for Raleigh Stanley Harkey, 68, Dickens, were held Sunday at the East Side Church of Christ, Dickens.

Born in San Saba County, in 1892. Mr. Harkey died December 16. He suffered a heart attack. He had been a resident of Dickens County since 1894. he made his home at Dickens.

In 1913, he married the former Maggie Ola Foster. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Mr. Tidmore, minister from Ralls, conducted the services.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Estelle Niles, San Angelo; three sisters, Mrs. Irene Davis, Corpus Christi, Mrs. Edell Petty Abilene; Mrs. Beryl Lewis, Corpus Christi; and two brothers, Lonnie Harkey, Flagstaff, AZ and Loren Harkey of Corpus Christi.

Three grandchildren also survive.

Pallbearers include Frank Murphy, Tom Earl Green, Fred Arrington, Cecil Meadors, Sam Koonsman, Faye Slough and Tom Bateman.

Interment was in Dickens Cemetery, with Campbell´s Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Dickens Church of Christ for Mrs. Maggie Foster Harkey, 78, a pioneer Dickens County ranchwoman. Bill McBride, minister, officiated.

Mrs. Harkey died at a nursing home in San Angelo Feb. 13. She had been a resident of Dickens County since 1902. She and her husband started their ranching career with the Spur and Matador ranch in 1913. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Estelle Niles, San angelo; three grandchildren, Bruce Niles, Catherine Niles and Stanley Jones.

Burial was in Dickens Cemetery.
