Services for Charles Willie Edwards, 55, Afton, were held at 11 a.m. January 13 in the Highway 70 Church of Christ with Earl McDough, Plainview Church of Christ minister, officiating.

Edwards was dead on arrival at St. Mary of the Plains Hospital January 10 Cardiac arrest was apparently the cause of death. A farmer and rancher, he was born March 11, 1933 in Dickens County. He had been a resident of Dickens County all of his life.

He married Janelle Williams in Dickens on November 3, 1953. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Nell Edwards, Afton; one son, Rickey Edwards, Arlington; a daughter, Pam Morris, Flomot; a sister, Melba Martin, Afton and his mother, Ruby Edwards, Afton; three grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Robert Forbis, JimBo Humphreys, Steve Drennan, Rodney Randolph, Jerry Gage, Dwain Harris, Stanley Hash and J.D. McMormick.

Burial was in Dickens Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home, Spur.
