DICKENS (Special) - Services for Shelmon Hubert Collins, 82, of Dickens will be at 3 p.m. today at Dickens First Baptist Church with the Rev. C.L. Atkinson, astor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Porter Ken of Rolla, Kan.

Burial will be in Dickens Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.

Collins died at 7:45 p.m. Thursday at Lubbock´s Methodist Hospital.

He was born in Benjamin and had been a Dickens County resident since 1927. Collins was a retired city water superintendent of Dickens and a member of the First Baptist Church. He married Nellie Mae Carroll Feb. 23, 1918, in Weatherford.

Survivors include his wife, a son, Hubert of Dickens; two daughters, Minnie Wyatt of Whiteface and Telma Butler of Lubbock; two brothers, Roy of Fort Worth and John of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sisters, Velma Cummings and Thelma McWhorter, both of Weatherford and Beulah Jones of Bakersfield, Calif.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
