Billie Bass Burrow, 89, of Amarillo died Wednesday, March 10, 2004. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Burial will be in Dickens Cemetery in Dickens.Mrs. Burrow was born in Stamford to Leander Eugene Bass and Margaret Agnes Busby Bass. She was raised in McAdoo and graduated from McAdoo High School. She worked for Sears and Roebuck Co. as office manager from 1951 until she retired. She was a member of the women's division of Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, Business Professional Women's Club and Democratic Club.
The family wishes to give a very special thanks to all at Odyssey Health Care, Meals on Wheels and Nurses Unlimited.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bradford and Dan; two sisters, Mary and Margaret; a son, Travis Eugene Bird; and a grandson, Randall Eugene Bird.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Shirley Randall Bird of Wolfforth; a granddaughter, Billie Joan Bird of Wolfforth; two grandsons, Travis M. Bird of Amarillo and Brent B. Bird and family of Quail; a great-grandson, Darrel Eugene Bird of Seattle; a great-great-grandson, Dylan Stalter of Amarillo; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family suggests memorials be to Odyssey Healthcare, 1000 S. Jefferson St., Amarillo, TX 79101; Meals on Wheels, 219 W. Seventh Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101; or Nurses Umlimited, 4037, W. 50th Ave., Amarillo, TX 79109.
