Ruby Mae Blackwell, of Ashland, Kansas, passed away on December 24, 2014. She was born in Crowell, Texas on June 22, 1924 to Luther and Belma (Bacot) Ray. She attended the Nazarene Church in Dickens.

Ruby loved horses and enjoyed showing them. She was an avid seamstress. While living in Ashland, Ruby was a member of the First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Jack Ray; and an infant brother.

Ruby's survivors include two sisters, Doris Wall and Josephine Baker, both of Ashland; sister-in-law Helen Ray of Throckmorton, TX; her son Pat Mason and wife Dean of Graham, TX; her daughter Mary Ann Smith and husband George of Alliance, NE; grandchildren, Randy (Tanis) Mason of Benton, KS, Lynn Mason of Wichita, KS, Kim (Brad) Ashcroft of Wichita, Billy Mason of Salina, KS, Cindy Smith of Alliance, NE, Mary K Smith of Omaha, NE and Nancy (Gary) Knoll of Colony, KS; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
