Photo U.S.Flag   Graveside services in the Dickens Cemetery were at 4 p.m. July 18, 1989 for Travis Eugene Bird, 55.

Services were held at 4 p.m. Monday at the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Alamogordo, NM. Hamilton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bird died July 14, 1989 in Gerald Memorial Hospital, Alamogordo following a brief illness. He was born August 12, 1933 in Spur. He was a resident of Bent, NM at the time of his death, moving there from Amarillo three years ago. He was a former employee of ICX Motor Freight in Amarillo.

A member of the Bent Volunteer Fire Department, he married Shirley Dorene Randall in 1955 in Spur. He attended the Latter Day Saints Church in Mescalero.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Bird of Bent; three sons, Travis Morton and Brent B. Bird, both of Amarillo and Randal Gene Bird, Houston; one daughter, Joan Bird Kachle, Amarillo; his mother, Billie Burrow, Amarillo and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Bill Randal, Spur; four grandchildren, Darrell, G.W. Jack and Tracy Bird, all of Amarillo.
