AFTON (Special) - Services for James Washington Baker, 64, of Afton, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Dickens, with the Rev. C.L. Atkinson, pastor, officiating.Burial will be in the Dickens Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home in Spur.
He died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday in Methodist Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born in Avery. He married Kathryn Franks on June 2, 1943, in Manhattan, Kans. He lived most of his life in Dickens County. He was a farmer and a World war II veteran.
Survivors include a son, James Carl of Afton; three daughters, Beth Long of Dickens, Mary Kay Middleton of Spur and Linda Baker of Dallas; a brother, Charlie of Lubbock; two sisters, Vivian Harmon of Frankston and Louise Perryman of Afton; and six grandchildren.
