Sam Jacob and Mary Annie Bachman lived in Dickens County since 1923. Sam Jacob Bachman was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas on February 9, 1883. Mary Annie Nunley Bachman was born in Comanche County, Texas on March 11, 1883. Their children were Annie Mae Bachman (Johnson), Marion Ruben Bachman, Eunabelle Bachman (Copass), J.P. Bachman, Charlie Roy Bachman, Elsie Thelma Bachman (Pool) and Paul J. Bachman.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Anne Bachman, 81, were held November 28 in the First Baptist Church, Dickens, Rev. Jack DeWitt, pastor, officiated, assisted by Rev. Sims of Pansey.Mrs. Bachman died Nov. 27 in the Crosbyton Hospital. A resident of Dickens County since 1929, she resided north of Dickens. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Sam Bachman, Dickens; four daughters, Mrs. Anna Mae Hopper, Corpus Christi; Mrs. Lena Johnson, Dickens; Mrs. Euna Bell Copass, Solvang, CA; Mrs. Elsie Thelma Pool, Gruver; three sons, J.P. Bachman, Crosbyton; Charles Roy Bachman, Ft. Worth and Paul J. Bachman, Lubbock; 25 grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Guy Goen, Henry Edward, Clay Edward, Johnny Koonsman, Fred Arrington and Thurmond Lewis.
Interment was in the Dickens Cemetery.

Funeral services for Sam Jacob Bachman, 87, were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Dickens. Rev. Jack DeWitt officiated, assisted by B. A. Hyatt, Lubbock.Mr. Bachman, died April 21 in a Lubbock Hospital. He came to Dickens County in 1929 and made his home northeast of Dickens. He was a member of the Methodist church. Mrs. Bachman preceded him in death in November, 1969.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Anne Mae Hopper, Corpus Christi; Mrs. Lena Johnson, Dickens; Mrs. Euna Bell Copass, Solvang, Calif., and Mrs. Elsie Thelma Pool, Gruver; three sons, J.P. Bachman, Crosbyton; Charlie Roy Bachman, Ft. Worth and Paul J. Bachman, Lubbock. Twenty-five grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren also survive.
Pallbearers included Guy Goen, Johnnie Koonsman, Thurman Lewis, Henry Edwards, Clay Edwards and Sam Porter.
Interment was in Dickens Cemetery.
