Rube Bachman Dies in Freak Accident

U.S.Flag   Funeral services were held Monday for Merron Reuben Bachman, 52, who was fatally injured December 26.

Rev. Robert Field, Azle, formerly of Dickens, officiated.

Mr. Bachman had backed a truck over a large cream can. He had jacked up the truck to free the can when it slipped off and rolled forward. He was crushed beneath the tandem rear wheel.

A resident of Dickens County since 1928, Mr. Bachman was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Zelma Bachman, Afton; his mother and father, Sam and Annie Bachman; four sisters, Anna Mae Hopper, Lena Johnson, Euna bell Opas, and Elsa Pool; three brothers, J.P., Charlie and Paul Bachman; step-children: George McDuff, Mrs. Shirley Craze, and Charlotte Reed; four grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Billy Hull, Henry Edwards, Clay Edwards, Sam Porter, Buck Partridge and Foy Jackson.

Burial was in Dickens Cemetery.
