U.S.Flag   Funeral services for Billy Joe Baber, 57, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 10, 1986, at the Blackburn-Shaw Reed Chapel, Bible Baptist Temple, Amarillo, with Rev. L. L. "Bud" Ammerman officiating.

Baber died Tuesday, January 7, in the St. Anthony´s Hospital, Amarillo, after a lengthy illness. Born July 26, 1928 in California, Mr. Baber, a truck driver, attended school at Patton Springs, Afton. He had lived in Amarillo the past ten years. He also served 5 1/2 years in the Marines, and was a Baptist.

He is survived by one daughter, Beverly Murphy Smith, Plainview; two sons, Bill Baber, Andrews and Matt Baber, Amarillo; his mother, Mae Murphy, Dickens; three brothers, Roger Baber; Wayne Baber, Andrews; Clive Baber, Albuquerque, N.M.; one sister, Leslie Woodloch, Flower, Indiana; his stepfather, Frank Murphy, Dickens and one grandson.

Burial was in the Dickens Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.
