Services for Glenda Atkinson, 56, of Post were Thursday, December 7, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. in the Trinity Baptist Church in Post. The Rev. Billie S.Smith officiated. Burial was in the Dickens Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Justice-Mason Funeral Home.Atkinson died Wednesday, December 6, 2000 at Covenant Medican Center-Lakeside in Lubbock. She was born September 24, 1944 to Ed and Dutch (Richards) Webb in Spur. She attended school at Spur and married Don Atkinson on October 17, 1963 in Dickens. They made their first home in Dickens and later moved to Spur, where she worked for the Dixie Dog. In 1990, they moved to Post and she worked for Rosie´s Restaurant and later for Soda Pops. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church and was a homemaker and proud "Nana" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Melvin Webb.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Chris Atkinson of Lubbock and Bo Atkinson of Roanoke; three daughters Doni Crews of Odessa, Debbie McBride of Corpus Christi and Brenda Foster of Andrews; three brothers, Joe Richards of Hobbs, NM, Charley Webb of Lubbock and Melton Webb of Los Lunas, NM; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Joe Arrington Cancer Center of Lubbock.
