FORT WORTH - (Special) - Graveside services for Doris Lee Arthur, 77, of North Richland Hills will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Dickens Cemetery in Dickens with her brother, Carl G. Arthur, officiating.

Arrangements are under direction of Thompson´s, Harveson & Cole Funeral Home in Fort Worth.

She died Tuesday, June 4, 1996.

She was born June 16, 1918, in Dickens County. She graduated from Spur High School in 1935 and attended Abilene Christian University from 1935 to 1938. She also attended McLennan Community College. She received awards in 1958, 1959 and 1970 for Sustained Superior Performance from the Veterans Administration. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ.

She began in 1936 working for the Dickens County school superintendent and the Department of Public Safety. In 1946, she began working for the Veterans Administration in Lubbock as a clerical typist. She retired in 1978 from the VA offices in Waco as a loan examiner.

Survivors include her mother, Georgia Arthur of Abilene; her brother, Carl G. of Fort Worth; and several nieces and nephews.
