Beatrice Adams photoServices for Beatrice Dixon Adams, 89, of Dickens, were held Wednesday, November 2, at 2 p.m. in the Dickens Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Henderson, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Dickens Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Adams died October 31 about 9:30 p.m. in Methodist Hospital, Lubbock, following a lengthy illness. She was born April 8, 1899 in Van Zant County and had lived in Dickens County since 1972, moving here from Azle.

A homemaker she was a member of the Methodist Church. She first married James Chester Martin in December of 1912 in Van Zant County. He died in January of 1938. She then married Howard Adams in Arkansas in 1940. He died in 1954.

She is survived by three sons, J.C. Martin, Safford, Arizona, Ben Martin, Cottonwood, Arizona, Kenneth Martin, Combs, Arizona, one daughter, Lorine Edwards, Dickens; two sisters, Laura Clems, Quinlin; Gladys Lagsford, Wills Point; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
