Services for Joe Willie Woods, 74, of Dickens were held Monday, February 25, 1991 at 2 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home Chapel, Milton Blackman, Elder of the Jehovah's Witness Parkway congregation, Lubbock, officiatd.

Burial was in Afton Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Homein charge of arrangements.

Mr. Woods died about 8:30 a.m. following a lengthy illness in St. Mary's Hospital on February 23. He had been a resident of Dickens most of his life.

He was born in Hill County, Texas on July 26, 1916. He was a mechanic.

He married Mildred Bradford in Dickens on December 30, 1944. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witness faith.

He is survied by his wife, Mildred Woods, Dickens; two sisters, Ola Brown, Lubbock and Bessie B. Rylie, Hereford.

Pallbearers included Mike Norris, Jack Norris, Bobby Lea, Roger Bradford, Flip Fitzgerald and Rick Goss.

Graveside services for Mildred Woods, 79, Dickens County, were held Sunday, September 19, 2004 at Afton Cemetery with Rev. Larry Burton officiating. Services were under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

She died Friday, September 17, 2004 in Lubbock.

Mrs. Woods was born April 27, 1925 in Dickens Co., Texas to Ira Clad and Alvie Newcomb Bradford, some of Dickens Counties earliest settlers.

She married Joe Woods in Dickens on December 30, 1944. He preceded her in death in 1991.

She was a housewife and a lifelong Dickens County resident.,

She was also preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials to Afton Cemetery Assn., Box 28, Afton, TX 79220.
