Funeral rites for Thurston Winegar, 62, of Roaring Springs were at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in First Assembly of God Church in Roaring Springs. Military graveside services followed in Afton Cemetery.
He was a brother of Kelton Winegar of Crosbyton and A.L. Winegar, a former local resident.
Mr. Winegar was claimed by death Sunday morning in Veterans Administration Hospital in Amarillo following a lengthy illness.
A farmer and veteran of World War II, he moved to Roaring Springs in 1950 from Desdemona.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Nona Lona of Roaring Springs and Sharon Barton of Dalhart; three brothers, Kelton Winegar of Crosbyton, A.L. Winegar of Long Branch and M.A. Winegar of Irving; one sister, Obnetta Newsome of Henderson; and seven grandchildren.

Church Services for Callie Giesecke, 90, of Matador will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, February 19, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Matador with Bro. Bill Manney officiating. Interment will follow at Afton Cemetery under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home of Matador. Callie passed from this life on February 16, 2016 in Lockney.
