Funeral services for George Waller, 67, were held last Thursday in the Afton Baptist Church, Rev. Roy Moseley officiating.
Born in Scottsboro, Alabama in 1894, Waller came to Dickens County about 20 years ago. He resided in the Afton community. He died March 7. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; one son, George William Waller, Afton; eight daughters, Mrs. Rosie Sharp, Stinnett; Mrs. Daisey Dopp, Bovina; Bessie Lee Waller, Gruver; Mrs. Bertie Greenwood, White Deer; Mrs. Fay Nelson, Skellytown; Jewell Ray Green, Bellview; Mrs. Thelma Holt, Weatherford and Mrs. Grace Green, Borger.
Other survivors include four brothers, John Waller,Texarkana; Mike Waller, Plainview; Mun Waller, Jal, NM; and Lee Waller, Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Pruitt, Dallas; Mrs. Mary Green, Jal, NM and 28 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
His mother, Mrs. Nancy Waller, Dallas also survives.
Pallbearers include Jimmie Perryman, J. W. McAllister, Ray Dell Mullins, Lis Brown, Carney Roberts and Cecil Perry.
Interment was in Afton Cemetery.
