Funeral rites for Mrs. Alma R. Stark, age 53, pioneer resident of Dickens County, were conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the Methodist Church at Afton with Rev. O.D. McDonald officiating.

Interment followed in the Afton Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stark succumbed Saturday, March 26, about 6:30 p.m. She had been in ill health for a long period of time.

Mrs. Stark had been a resident of Dickens County since 1899.

This entire time of 50 years had been spent in the Elton and Afton community. She was married to Raymond Stark in 1913, and the couple had one son, Joe W. Stark, who died in 1933. Mrs. Stark was a member of the Methodist Church, having joined at an early age.

She is survived by her husband, three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Darby, Snyder; Mrs. Mary Rogers, Ft. Worth; and Mrs. Pink Sitton of Monahans; three brothers, H.L.Squires, Albuquerque; Robert Squires, Wyoming and Frank Squires of Dalhart.

Pallbearers were Ernest Noland, Guy Thompson, H.V. Williams, W.H. Dodson, Elmer Thompson and Adam Donaghe.
