SMALL BOY STRUCK BY CAR INSTANTLY KILLED WEDNESDAY

Grandson of Mrs. John Smith Is Victim of Fatal Accident Near Glenn

Mix Smith, 12, son of Mr. ad Mrs. S. J. Smith of Roaring Springs and grandson of county treasurer, Mrs. John Smith of Matador, was instantly killed when he was struck by automobile on Highway 18 about one mile south of Glenn in Dickens county late Wednesday morning. The child, accompanied by his brother was walking along the Highway on his way to a field where he was to chop cotton when the accident occurred. The car, approaching from the rear at about 50 miles per hour sounded the horn when almost even with the boys. The child is believed to have stepped in front of the machine.

INSTANTLY KILLED

The boy is believed to have been instantly killed by the impact which badly mangled the body.

Reports received in Matador yesterday afternoon declared that the driver of the car is in a Spur sanitarium in a serious nervous condition as result of the accident.
