SPUR (Special) Floyd Richard Smith, 61, of Dickens died about 1:45 p.m. Thursday in Crosbyton Hospital after a sudden illness.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the First Baptist Church in Dickens with the Rev. Rod Redard, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Afton Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home.
Smith was a retired automobile mechanic. He was a native of Cottle County and had been a resident of Dickens since 1970 moving there from Crosbyton.
He was married to Geneva Shackleford on Sept. 4, 1937, in Dickens.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Durwood Horn of Lorenzo and Mrs. Roy Anthony of Slaton; four sons, Richard D. of Carlsbad, NM; Gayil of Slaton, Jesse of Lubbock and Sammy of Dickens; a brother, James D. of Escondido, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

CROSBYTON (Special) Services for Janeva Smith Wooten, 80, of Crosbyton will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Adams Funeral Home with Rev. Lester B. Griffin, pastor of Crosbyton First Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Afton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.
She died Sunday, Jan. 2, 1994, in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital.
She was born on Nov. 24, 1913, in Carthage. She married Floyd Smith on Sept. 4, 1937, in Dickens. He died on Aug. 9, 1973. She was a homemaker and a member of Dickens First Baptist Church. She moved to Crosbyton in 1991 from Spur.
Survivors include four sons, Gail D. "Chubby" Smith of Crosbyton, Richard Smith of Hobbs, NM, Jesse "Red" Smith of Denver City, and Sammie Smith of Amarillo; two daughters, Jackie Horn and Shirley Anthony, both of Spur; two brothers, Sam Shakeford and Jake Shakeford, both of Spur; two sisters, Jewel Denton of Iowa Park and Jannetta McClain of Grand Prairie; 13 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
