Graveside Services for Minnie Jo Scott, 93, of Roaring Springs will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday November 24, 2014 at Afton Cemetery with Rev. Nathan Mulder officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home of Matador.

Jo passed from this life on November 21, 2014 in Lubbock. Jo was born on November 28, 1920 to William Thomas Vinson and Emma Lena Burgett Vinson in Abilene, Texas. She graduated from Girard High School. She married John A. Scott on November 16, 1940 in Spur. From this union they had three children; Johnny, Dianne, and Joe Michael. She worked in Spur for a number of years making calculators, and also worked at the Motley County Library for 15 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Roaring Springs, and the Predicta Study Club.

Jo is survived by her children: Johnny Scott and wife Shirley of Lubbock, Dianne Washington and husband Seab of Flomot, and Joe Michael Scott and wife June of Dumas. Four grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents; William Thomas and Emma Lena Vinson, her husband John A. Scott, sisters; Viola Bilberry, Mildred Nowell, and Bobbie Vinson, and her granddaughter Rebecca Holley.

Memorial Donations, in honor of Jo, can be made to the Motley County Senior Citizens or to a charity of your choice.
