Funeral services were held Friday and Saturday, August 1st and 2nd for two victims of a spectacular vehicle accident which injured five other persons Wednesday at Ceta Glen canyon, where they had gone to attend a Baptist encampment.

Rites for Wanda Fay Rasberry, 15, of Dickens was conducted at 10:30 a.m.at the Afton Baptist Church with Rev. B.C. Stonecipher, pastor, officiating, he was assisted by Rev. C.N.Gilbert, pastor of the First Baptist Church at Spur.

Services for Flora Charline Watley, 12, of Elton community, six miles north of Dickens, were held Saturday at 2:30 o'clock at the Baptist church in Dickens with Bro. Jack Webster conducting the services.

Wanda Fay Rasberry was killed instantly and Flora Charline Watley injured fatally when a pick-up truck in which Rev. and Mrs. J.P. Scruggs with a group of young people were riding, plunged off a steep embankment and fell 90 feet into a narrow gorge, 40 miles southeast of Amarillo. Miss Watley died at 2:05 a.m., July 31 in Swisher County hospital in Tulia.

Rev. J.P. Scruggs, pastor of the Elton Baptist Church, Mrs. Scruggs, Glenna Mae Jones and Mary Jo Harvey were treated for injuries at a hospital in Canyon. Edna Nell Shaw was dismissed after----------------. The children in the Afton and Elton communities ranged in age from 11 to 15.

Wanda Fay Rasberry, who was born at Afton, Texas, March 2, 1932 is the daughter of Dennis Rasberry of Meadow, Texas and had lived in this community all of her life.

Pallbearers were E.J. Nichols, Ern Scott, Hardy Wilcher, Gene Slaton, Tab Williams and G.C. Pierce.

Interment was in the Afton Cemetery with Chandler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Surviving her are her father, Dennis Rasberry and a step-mother, both of Meadow; one brother, Milton Austin Rasberry of Dickens, and one sister, Juanita Rasberry of Afton. Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Rasberry of Dickens and Mr. and Mrs. Benham of Afton. Wanda lived with her grandparents, Jr. and Mrs. Benham of Afton after the death of her mother several years ago.

Floraq Charline Watley was born at Anton, Texas June 28, 1935 to Mr. and Mrs. F.E. Watley who reside in the Elton community since January of this year.

Pallbearers were Bill Dodson, Tab Williams, Lester Mobley, Elmer Thompson, Earnest Noland and Lawton Harvey.

Flower bearers were Francell Williams, Alma Laster, Freda Sue Gipson, Mary Lou Thompson, Thelma Collins, Dallia Rae Sprayberry, Winnie Mae Hobson, Emma Watley, Charlotte Ann Watley, Juddie Fae McKnight, Lois Laster and Joyce Harvey.

Interment was in the Dickens Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. She is survived by her father and mother two brothers, Lonnie Ray and Leroy and two sisters, Ruby Nell and Joyce.
