U.S.Flag  SPUR (Special) - Services for J.W. McAllister, 71, of Dickens will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Chruch of Dickens with Clifford Mayo of Dickens and Gregg White of Lubbock officiating.

Burial will be in Afton Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.

He died Friday, Nov. 29, 1996, at Methodist Hospital in Plainview.

He was born March 24, 1925, in Midway. He married Geeneta Dement on Dec. 10, 1947, in Clovis, NM. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the Baptist church in Dickens.

He was a mechanic.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Andy of Plainview; a daughter, Nancy Stone of Dickens; a brother, Clyde of Lubbock; two sisters, Fannie Lou Richards of Lubbock and Cora Bland of Greenbelt; and five grandchildren.
