Funeral services were held Sunday, September 22, at 2 p.m. in Ropesville for Mrs. Juanita Rasberry Lambert, at the Baptist Church. The Rev. Murle Rogers officiated, and graveside services were at the Afton Cemetery at 5 p.m. under the direction of Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home of Lubbock.
Mrs. Lambert, age 40, died Friday, September 20 at 2:05 p.m. in the Lubbock Medical Center Hospital, after a short illness. She had been hospitalized there about a week. She had lived in Ropesville for about a month, moving there from Bedford, Mass., where she worked as a Lab Technician, and lived until grown, at Afton, with an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Cagle. She graduated from Patton Springs High School.
Survivors other than her aunt and uncle, the Cagles, and a cousin, Dwight Cagle, are her husband, Earl, of Ropesville; a son, Dennis A. Faria, of the U.S. Navy; a daughter, Nandra, of Ropesville; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Rasberry of Ropesville; a brother, Melton Austin Rasberry, of Pecos; a step-sister, Mrs. Ladson Worley, of Clovis, New Mexico; and a step brother, Dewayne Galloway, of Brownfield.
Pallbearers were: Sid Price, C.E. McCormick, Dan Carter, Wendel Cherry, Milford Byrd and Bo Wright.
