Funeral services for Betty Jean Kimzey, 51, were conducted Sunday, December 21, at 3:30 p.m. in the Afton Baptist Church. The Rev. Rawleigh Adcock, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the Afton Cemetery under direction of Seigler Funeral Home of Matador.

A native of Dickens County, Mrs. Kimzey has lived in Big Spring for the past 26 years. She passed away following a brief illness.

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. W.B. (Myrtle) Carothers; three brothers; Alvin Carothers of Afton, Leroy Carothers of Ropesville, and Bill Carothers of Afton; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Williams of Afton and Mrs. Linda Dement of Lubbock.

Pallbearers were Elmer Osburn, Ted Sedgwick, Bill Parlmer, W.R. Sedgwick, Thurston Winegar, and Wright Martin.
