Funeral services for Vurl A. Hinson, 59, Afton, were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 14 in the Afton Methodist Church.

Rev. Victor Crabtree, retired Baptist minister, Dickens, officiated; assisted by Rev. W.B. Vaughn, retired minister from Matador.

Burial was in the Afton Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Sid Baxter, Odessa and Mrs. Jerry Rogers, Burleson; one son, John Alvin, Odessa; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Davis and Mrs. Lidie Elam, both of Fabens and Mrs. Eunice Spangler, Denver, Colorado; four brothers, Clint, Looney, D.A. and Elliott. Eight grandchildren also survive.
