Obituary

Services for Lilburn Harvey, 87, of Tombal, were at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 2000 at McAdoo First Baptist Church with Carl Coffey officiating. Burial was in Afton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Harvey died Thursday, January 13, 2000 at Memorial Hostpial in the Woodlands, Texas. He was born March 10, 1912 in McAdoo. He married Mary Christopher on August 1, 1936 in Matador.

He had lived in the McAdoo area most of his life. He moved to Tomball in 1998 from Dickens. He was a farmer and a former member of the Co-Op Gin board and a former member of the McAdoo School Board.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Harvey of Tomball; three daughters, Arlene Hale of Houston, Lenora Land of Houston, Paul Blacklock of Arlington; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Donald Harris, Donnie Beary, Bill Young, Damon Stotts, Gary Tue and Richard Ward.

Mary Havey PhotoMary Harvey, 101, of McAdoo, TX passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016 after a long, healthy and blessed life. She was born in Matador, TX on May 17, 1914 to James and Delphia Christopher. Mary became the graceful wife of Lilburn Harvey in 1936 and together they raised three beautiful daughters.

Mary was a shy, dignified and active member of the Church of Christ in McAdoo for many years. Mary kept a warm and comfortable home; she loved gardening, canning, reading, kittens and her family. She was well loved and will be missed.

Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lilburn, her parents, and 11 brothers and sisters.

Mary is survived by her three daughters, Arlene Hale, Lenora Land, and Paula Blacklock as well as 2 sons-in-law, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Her life and spirit will be celebrated at Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton, Texas on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Afton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
