Haney

Several people of Dickens attended funeral services for Thomas Burnett Haney, 69. They were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Afton Church of Christ. H.L. Dennis, McAdoo, officiated.

Mr. Haney, who had farming interests at Afton, was dead on arrival at Crosbyton Hospital January 8, 1971. He had been a resident of Dickens County since 1916. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of Afton; two sons, Jim Tom Haney, Seminole and Charles Haney, Arlington; one daughter, Mary Helen Fleming, Garland; four brothers, Dr. E.L. Haney, Ralls: J.W. Haney, Matador; Byron Haney, Afton and B.R. Haney, Truth or Consequences, NM; two sisters, Mrs. R.L. Thacker, and Mrs. Sarah Gray, both of Mt. Pleasant. Twelve grandchildren also survive.

Interment was in Afton cemetery.
