Funeral services were held Saturday at 4 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Afton, for Mrs. Ellen C. Hale, 67, former resident of Afton.

Elder Luther Porter of Paducah officiated.

Mrs. Hale died July 7 in a Mineral Wells hospital. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. She had made her home in Mineral Wells since 1959.

She is survived by her husband, Joe T. Hale, Sr., Mineral Wells; one son, J.T. Hale, Jr., Mineral Wells; one daughter, Mrs. Lillian Sharp, Afton; mother, Mrs. Mollie Butler, Afton; three sisters, Mrs. Audrey Phillips of Wichita Falls; Mrs. Ruby Edwards, Afton; Mrs. Willie Dollard, Irving; four brothers, Clyde Pernell, Dickens; Monroe Pernell, Graham; Alvie Pernell, Afton; Ray Pernell, Van Horn.

Pallbearers included W.J. Sharp, Kenneth Patrick, Aubra Ritche, Sam Porter, Marlin Patrick, T. Hale.

Burial was in the Afton Cemetery.
