Services for Anna Belle Hale, 91, of Cross Plains will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at First Baptist Church in Afton with the Rev. Hulen Bass officiating. Burial was in Afton Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.
She died Saturday, February 8, 2003 in Abilene.
She was born Aug. 20, 1911, in Lohn, Texas to William Lee and Rosa Hoover Jennings. She married David Redford Hale on December 18, 1928, in Dickens. He preceded her in death Sept. 13, 1983. Mrs. Hale was a retired postmaster. She had served at the Afton Post Office for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Nickie Don Hale of Matagorda; two daughters, Nancy N. Braly of Cross Plains and Judy Kaye Piper of Casper, Wyoming; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
