Funeral services for Dorlores Goodwin Bridge Fox, 79, of Afton, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2006, at the Roaring Springs Full Gospel Church with Rev. Kevin Keltz officiating. Interment was in the Afton Cemetery under the direction of Seigler Funeral Home of Matador.
Dorlores Goodwin was born March 9, 1927, near Roaring Springs in Motley County, the daughter of Curtis Goodwin and Hortense Yeates Goodwin. She married Dumont Bridge in 1946. In 1971 she married Ray Fox, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Fox died early Friday morning (June 16) at the Dickens County Care Center. Dorlores was a longtime resident of the Afton Community. She was employed for 20 years by the Texas Department of Human Services, retiring in 1987.
She is survived by one son, Gary Bridge and wife Jane of Afton; two daughters, Nancy Hale and husband Tom of Dickens and Beverly Darsey and husband Robin of Afton; six grandchildren: Valerie Hale Smithey, Dillon Hale, Clayt Bridge, Becca Bridge Wallis, Bert Darsey, and Dumont Darsey; and one great-grandchild, Luke Smithey.
Pallbearers were Brian Smithey, Dillon Hale, Bert Darsey, Dumont Darsey, Clayt Bridge, and Tyson Wallis. Honorary Pallbearers were Becca Wallis and Valerie Smithey.
