Last Rites Are Held For Mrs. Gorda Ford

Last rites were conducted for Gorda Ford Tuesday, November 10, at the Afton Methodist Church. Rev. W.B. Vaughn, Afton, officiated, assisted by Rev. J.W. Syrois of Robertson.

Mrs. Ford was born July 9, 1892 at DeLeon, Texas and she died November 9, 1953 at her home in the Robertson Comunity about 3:10 a.m. She was married to V.S. Ford in 1910 near Lingleville, Texas and they moved to Dickens County in 1920. In 1934 they moved to Lubbock County. She was converted early in life and was a devoted member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Pauline Ragland of Afton; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Husting of Slaton, Mrs. Viola Cox of Levelland, and Mrs. Nettie Kinnison of Sweetwater; one brother, John Hammitt of Acuff.

Pallbearers were Johnnie Wheeler, R.E. Parchman and Ollie Howard, all of Robertson, G.W. Bennett, M.L. Kelley and L.J. Fullingim, all of Afton.

Interment was in the Afton Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home of Lubbock.
