Obituary

Graveside services for Dorr O. Blasingame were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 1996 at Afton Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Billy M. Goodwin, El Paso. Burial was under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home, Spur.

Mr. Blasingame died Thursday, November 7, 1996 at 8:45 p.m. in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital.

Blasingame was born December 23, 1918 in Dickens County. He had lived in Afton most of his life and was a farmer. He married Irene Reagan November 7, 1937 in Crosbyton. He was a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Blasingame, Afton; one son, Geary Blasingame, Afton one sister, Donis Katnatzer, Fort Worth; two grandchildren, Tony Blasingame and Terry Blasingame, both of Midland and four great-grandchildren.

AFTON — Graveside services for Irene Blasingame, 80, of Afton will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Afton Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Goodwin officiating.

Burial is under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.

She died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, in Afton.

She was born Aug. 31, 1922, in Paducah. She married Dorr Blasingame on Nov. 7, 1937, in Crosbyton. He died Nov. 7, 1996. She was a beautician for several years before attending Permian General Hospital School of Nursing in Andrews. She received her LVN license in October 1973. She practiced nursing in hospitals and nursing homes in Floydada, Crosbyton, Lockney and Spur. After that, she worked for a home health organization in the Afton, Dickens and Spur area.

Survivors include a son Geary of Afton; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Lubbock, P.O. Box 53276, Lubbock, TX 79453 or the Afton Cemetery Assn., Afton, TX 79220.
