HARPER CEMETERY

HARPER CEMETERY

Little history is known about burials in Harper Cemetery. Five graves sites were found and moved by The Corps of Engineers in 1953. Of the five graves found, three were identified. Harper Cemetery was moved when Lake Lewisville, Denton County, Texas was enlarged.

Information on this cemetery is from files of The Corps of Engineers. The cemetery was moved to Little Elm Cemetery in Little Elm, Texas along with three other abandoned cemeteries. The existing Little Elm Cemetery was at the present location with the exception of graves moved from the lower part of the cemetery to a higher location. Burials in the Harpers Cemetery are located at the North end of Little Elm Cemetery.
