A mailing list is a group of people with a common interest (in this case Deaf Smith County Genealogy) who subscribe to an email service that only sends messages to the closed group and only group members may send messages. It's a great way to discuss a subject with like mided people.
If you are not already familiar with mailing lists, there are two modes. List Mode sends one message each time a message is posted. Digest Mode waits until there is a bag full of mail to send. A busy mailing list might send out two digest messages per day (each containing 10 to 30 messages) if there is enough traffic. Slower lists may send one digest message every two or three days, regardless of how few messages there are
The Deaf Smith County Mailing List currently doesn't have much traffic. In fact, the last message posted was in 2006. I would suggest that you subscribe in List Mode.
Suscribe to the list and just read the messages if you want. You do not have to post or reply to messages, except for the initial subscription verifying message.
