United Daughters of the Confederacy is one of the oldest patriotic organizations in our country, having been officially organized as The National Association of the Daughters of the Confederacy on September 10, 1894, by Mrs. Caroline Meriwether Goodlett, of Nashville, TN, and Mrs. Anna Davenport Raines, of Georgia. The United Daughters of the Confederacy was incorporated on July 18, 1919.
ABOUT DIXIE'S DAUGHTERS CHAPTER:
Dixie's Daughters Chapter was chartered on July 18, 2005, in Glen Rose, Texas. The Confederate ancestors of chapter members came from nearly every state in the Confederacy. These brave men fought in every type of battle, from skirmishes to major battles, and ranked from Privates to Generals. Each man was fighting for his country, his home, his land, his family, and his cherished way of life. Dixie's Daughters is named as such to be all-inclusive, to recognize, and to show our great respect for each of these brave ancestors.
