U.S.Flag Services for H. Wampler, 69, of 8409 Hartford Drive will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Bowman Chapel of First United Methodist Church with the Rev. J. Waid Griffin, associate pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. Funeral services are under direction of Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home of Lubbock.

Wampler was pronounced dead at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at his home by Justice of the Peace Wayne LeCroy, who ruled natural causes in the death.

The Huckabay native grew up in Lorenzo and had lived in Lubbock since 1945. He lived in Pampa, where he worked for the Pampa Daily News, from 1938 until 1943.

Wampler was a linotype operator with The Avalanche Journal for 28 years until his retirement in 1973. He served with the Navy during World War II and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lubbock.

Survivors include his wife, Gladyne; and two sisters, Ileene Stobaugh of Lubbock and Codie Whitacre of Plainview.
